Blog Flashbacks Saturday

Welcome to my weekly installment of Blog Flashbacks Saturday. It started last weekend, so with some positive feedback, here we go again.

Now you may be wondering who this is? Or you may be wondering why I have a picture of Bruce Forsyth in this post.

Bruce Forsyth is a famous TV presenter in England, hosting, amongst others, "Play Your Cards Right", a game show where contestants can win cash prizes or holidays etc.

Here's a clip of a typical Play Your Cards Right show with Bruce Forsyth entertaining the audience, performing his signature pose, and introducing the ladies who will be dealing the cards:

Well we used to try and pose just like Bruce Forsyth when the game show began. It was his signature pose and we spent many happy hours imitating him!

A year ago this weekend I blogged about my brother and the time we spent with him in Malaysia while he was visiting on holiday. And of course, we had to do our best Bruce Forsyth pose!

And two years ago this weekend, my sister-in-law, Florina, had an accident while we were playing badminton - playing to win of course!

Whatever you're doing, have a lovely weekend, and see you on Monday!

  3. Did you take that picture standing on the platform? ...
    Duncan, good morning !!!
I can't imagine myself down the platform, but at the other end of the platform; it is very quiet, so I was low to the ground on the platform. Kind of tough with the low lighting ! Have a wonderful remaining Sunday wherever you are (Kuantan, I think) and Selamat Berpuasa if you are fasting !
    Regards,
    Wong from KL ...

  6. Hi Duncan interesting to see it's a beautiful 24 degrees in your part of the world.
I've had to google Kuantan to find out exactly where you are - I guess the closest I have been is to Kuala Lumpa on a stop over to Paris - where I actually got lost in that huge airport - went down the wrong spoke of the wheel!! and of course Singapore on many stop overs to the UK. I'm sure it's beautiful and I look forward to reading your posts.

  7. Thanks for introducing me to Bruce Forsyth!

And I absolutely love your current background. I really liked feeling the leaves of the bunga kertas when I was younger.

    Ninja-ing my way through life

  8. FGF, hope your trip went well!

Hi Dianne, I've been enjoying the pictures on your blog. The only time its 24 degrees here in Malaysia is on a cool, rainy night! We normally have 30-40 degree temperatures!

Michelle, you and Diane, my English friend, have both commented on how you love the background picture. Thank you! I took this picture 2 or 3 years ago and decided to use it for its light colours, so that a black font would be easily readable :)
