After all this awfully draining hot weather we've been having over the last few weeks, it was absolutely beautiful to have a whole night of rain and an overcast, and much cooler, following day. Here's my favourite views of this hiatus from the heat:
A raindrop hangs tentatively off a branch
Watery globules are slowly evaporated into the air
This natural work of art has been formed over years of rainwater downpours
This colourful leaf holds on to some raindrops for a while longer
It was great to see puddles in the streets and roads!
This was the scene on the newly-laid road outside our apartment
Very nice reflections. It is obvious you enjoyed rain, and it is quite understandable after the heat. I am not a heat lover, actually I do not feel well when it is hot, so I think I could not resist in that climate.
ReplyDeleteI do love the sunshine, but after weeks of intense heat I have learned to really appreciate the rain when it comes.
ReplyDeleteRains is always great to wash out the dusty air.. Cooooling....
ReplyDeleteRain is a real joy when the heat is too strong.......the photos talk by themselves and it looks like you have a really good time with it.
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures, particularly the green ones. A couple of the grey ones reminded me pretty much of life here in the UK, but understand how great it was for you. Constant heat is draining. Enjoy your cool spell :)
ReplyDeleteHi Duncan. These photographs are super awesome. I'm going to tweet them. I especially love the drain colours.
ReplyDeleteIn Oz ATM it is crisply cool but super gorgeous. No humidity for the first time for many months. This lovely autumn weather is all too short. It is snowing over the south-east - Tassie, Victoria and some of NSW.

I should have said in Queensland it is gorgeous, ha ha. I'm at the Sunshine Coast ATM.

ReplyDeleteThanks to all for your comments. This is the first time in my life I've been hoping and praying for rain!
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late in commenting on this post, Duncan, but I was away for the weekend. I can almost imagine the relief when the rains came. It must have been wonderful! You have caught some awesome and unusual shots there and it was lovely looking at them this morning.
ReplyDeleteThisisme, the rain is a great blessing when it's so hot!
ReplyDeleteThe reflections create some interesting images, I love this series with the raindrops.
