I have loved going on walks from as young as I can remember. My dad used to take me on journeys through fields and footpaths, over fences and dodging cow-pats!
I have also been able to take my children on walks, albeit less exciting than under my father's guide!
This is a picture of me and Lauren when she was young. She loved having a walk around and seeing nature and feeling the breeze:
Lauren and I went on an endless amount of walks during free afternoons while Fidelia was at university. It was a highlight and if I was lucky she would fall asleep on my shoulder before we made it back home!
I haven't been as passionate about taking Leah on walks, but we do go for a saunter around Bukit Sekilau occasionally.
Leah loves getting out the house and seeing cats. She's crazy about cats and makes so many 'meow' sounds when we come across a cat. That is definitely her highlight of going out with daddy!
Hi Duncan, I know your beautiful daughters will remember their walks with you and appreciate them as you did with your father.
ReplyDeleteMore difficult to go for a walk with two children now. :D
ReplyDeleteI used to make cat sounds as a child too. It's funny how everyone does it.
ReplyDeleteSo very sweet, I agree with Jennifer above, they will forever appreciate that they got to go on these lovely walks with their father!
ReplyDeleteGood to have some quality times !
ReplyDeleteYour making some nice memories. Have a great rest of your weekend.
ReplyDeleteVery good self-portraits, Lauren is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteShe's so cute! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Duncan! I loved taking my kids on nature walks in the mountains, or strolls around Charleston. They are all grown-up now, and moved away. My daughter still likes hikes when she can get a vacation from work :^)
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to drop a comment. These walk times are very special indeed and provide great teaching opportunities!
