Why do I love Malaysia so much?

I have been living in Malaysia for 8 years now and I have enjoyed every moment of it. Truth be told, there have been some worrying and difficult moments, but as I mentioned in a previous post, I am "living the dream" here in Kuantan, Malaysia.

I have a friend from England who lives in Johor Bharu (JB) and he too keeps a blog. I'd like you to meet him today.

His name is John and in a recent posting, he pretty much explained to a tee how we both feel about Malaysia and why we Englishmen indeed love Malaysia so much!

I couldn't have explained it better myself, so please hop over to John's blog right here to find out what I mean.

Malaysia Boleh!

  6. Duncan, my son Elliot is learning about the Rainforests of Indonesia as a result of watching a popular cartoon show here in the US. There are two brothers who teach children about animals around the world and their habitats and they have inspired him to study this region and the wildlife. The more he learns, the more he wants to visit the rainforest in person. I'm going to enjoy showing him the pictures from your blog and telling him the story of how you came to live in Malaysia. It's exciting to think of your journey, your leap of faith and how everything is turning out so beautifully. I look forward to visiting your friend's blog today too. Take care~

    1. Thanks for taking such an interest in my life's joirney from England to Malaysia. It'd be great if one day Elliot could come to this corner of the world! Have you told him about the headhunters who once took the heads of their victims in the jungles of Borneo?!

  9. You both do a great job of tempting us all to move in with you but I can't see me leaving Leicester where, as you probably know, we too have harmony with all the many cultural groups who live here. Bet you miss it really!!

  10. Haha yes, my mum tells me I'd fit right back in to Leicester if I were to move back!

  11. visited john's blog today as I do have the time to blog hop a bit. Both of you truly share interesting posts. Keep it up. It's good to read about my country from another person's perspective. Being born and bred in the country for so long, tendency to take things for granted is there and honestly, I do miss out on all the areas you mentioned. Come to show, my country is much less travelled by ME.

    1. Hi Lili, I agree it's easier to explore and appreciate a place when you're not originally from there!
      Thanks for your visit.
