Kuantan City Mall - April 2015 (part 4)

The plot of land where Kuantan City Mall will be built

It looks like the construction of Kuantan City Mall can now begin properly. The mound of rubble to the right of the picture (above) is where the old mosque once stood. Now it is gone, work can start. The mosque has been replaced with a brand new one which is just out of picture.

East Coast Mall new look

We've been watching East Coast Mall go through big changes for the last year or so, both inside and out. Rearrangement of lots, new shops and architectural changes are in progress. It's all actually scheduled to be completed by this month, being November, 2014. Obviously, the work needs to be done before the annual monsoon season arrives anywhere from mid-November through January.

The Manhattan Fish Market will be a new addition to East Coast Mall, located right at the entrance

In the coming weeks we are looking forward to see what other new shopping opportunities await us in Kuantan at the new-look East Coast Mall!

Cowboy in Kuantan

Cowboy is the name of a store in Kuantan which provides almost anything you can think of. We love going to Cowboy for buying food and snacks in bulk at better value.

Cowboy is located on Jalan Wong Ah Jang, a short distance from Kuantan town, the bus terminal and Stadium Makmur. These are photos from our last visit to Cowboy:

As you can see, the shelves are stocked full of goodies

Snacks heaven at Cowboy, Kuantan!

Sometimes it's hard to know where to look at Cowboy!

Berjaya Megamall Kuantan

Berjaya Megamall is located at Jalan Tun Ismail, 25000 Kuantan. It is the 2nd most popular shopping mall in Kuantan after East Coast Mall. Berjaya Megamall is made up of 5 floors: Ground Floor, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and a basement floor. Supermarkets, restaurants, electronics, books, stationery, home deco, jewellery, clothing and many others are all available at Berjaya Megamall.

The third floor also is home to Golden Screen Cinemas, a bowling alley, karaoke and pub, snooker centre and gamezone.

Here are some images of Berjaya Megamall, Kuantan:

O Christmas Tree

Our Christmas Tree is up in the living room. It looks particularly splendid at night when it is the sole source of light in the house.

We are going out to do some window shopping tonight with a view to adding to the decorations on the tree a little, and to the pile of presents under it!

Is your tree up yet? Have you done your Christmas shopping?

Petronas Twin Towers at KLCC

*Our home called Kuantan* has been out of posting for the last few days while we have been on holiday in Kuala Lumpur (KL).

One cannot visit KL without going to Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). And the heartbeat of KLCC is the quite majestic Petronas Twin Towers, the tallest such buildings in the world. (There are higher single towers, but these twin towers are the top of their class).

The Petronas Twin Towers are huge. It's only when you stand right beside them or view them from higher ground that you realise just how much they dwarf everything else in sight.

I always stand in awe of these marvellous towers, the symbol of Malaysia and KL. Just as they cause us to look upwards, they symbolise the future growth and potential of Malaysia. It also reminds us that we look upwards to a higher Being for our guidance and help.

The Petronas Twin Towers is an incredible structure and marvel of engineering.

Here they are viewed from a construction site:

This is a view inside Suria KLCC, a shopping mall beneath the Petronas Twin Towers

The Twin Towers from the back. Suria KLCC shopping mall stands below the wonderful structure.

This is what you call 'a room with a view'

Yes, this is the condo unit of my friend's place at KLCC, with the most perfect view you could want. The following pictures are taken from the 18th floor of this condo.

The raindrops on the window provided the perfect foreground to the KL skyline dominated by the Petronas Twin Towers in the background.

I could take photos of these magnificent towers all day . . .

They look even prettier as night sets in . . .

This final picture was taken at another friend's house, nearby Jalan Ampang. Look at the beams of light shooting into the night sky from the tips of the Petronas Twin Towers. To the left of the picture is the KL Tower.
