People in Malaysia accumulate a large amount of newspapers. I have noticed this from the first day I set foot in the country in 2002.
This old lady threw stacks of newspapers off her 2nd floor balcony, creating a thudding sound around our apartments.
A man collected the newspapers and threw them in his lorry.
I must admit, this event was highly exciting for an Englishman living in Malaysia!
eeking out a living one supposes. Nice sequence

Bonjour cher Duncan
ReplyDeleteMERCI pour ces photos !
Je pense que l'on ne verrait pas cette situation en Angleterre ! :o)
GROS BISOUS à toi et ta famille
et bonne journée en Malaisie !
Wonder what he did with them!
ReplyDeleteI guess this is highly exciting for anyone who's not used to this 'tradition'! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's all about perspective isn't it? ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe used to collect newspapers too, honey! But we gave them to the Kuantan Curry House for them to wrap their vegetables!
ReplyDeleteSo interesting to think that around here, newspapers are in danger of extinction! So many have folded, even major ones...
ReplyDeleteNice capture.
ReplyDeleteIs it about recycling Duncan? I like your 'action' shots!
ReplyDeleteInteresting shots.
ReplyDeleteIt's about recycling.
One of our papers in town is about to go out of business, hard to wrap things in web pages.
