International School of Kuantan (ISK) Open Day 13 -14 June, 2015

International School of Kuantan (ISK) held their first Open Day over the weekend of Saturday 13th - Sunday 14th June, 2015.

If you missed my tour of ISK, have a look by clicking on this link.

We attended the ISK Open Day on Sunday and had a very enjoyable time. The events were held in the hall with musical performances, a colouring competition for the children, a physiotherapy talk and the first ever "ISK's Got Talent."

ISK Open Day was also a time to meet up with friends old and new.

Met my current and former English students who go to ISK and who all performed admirably on the piano and singing. L-R: Bryan, Sherman, Isaac

Apart from my awfully pale skin, I love this picture with a great man whom I haven't caught or remembered his name over the years. He used to be a manager at KFC and I always had a chat with him while ordering our food there. He always provided great customer service. Now he's working with an advertising company and was at ISK for the Open Day

We brought along our friend, Sun Fu, to ISK Open Day. There he is, looking what to photograph next!

Fidelia and Cryzelle, daughter of our friend, Jane

An important mention also goes to Bakley and June Anderson whom we didn't get a photo with, but who lent us some magazines for our girls to lean on while doing the colouring competition.

Following are some of the images from ISK's Got Talent as we were treated to music, vocals and dance by the students of ISK.

And we were shocked and thrilled when our daughter Lauren was awarded the Grand Prize of an ipad mini and hamper for winning the colouring competition! It was a quite unexpected moment and we are very proud of her!

Christmas Performance at East Coast Mall

We were doing a spot of Christmas shopping at East Coast Mall and happened upon this Christmas performance at the Ground Floor. So we stopped to watch and of course, the children were glued to it. There were plenty of Christmas songs, colourful costumes, and the appearance of Santa Claus.

Keep Calm and X-Factor

American Idol has never been the same without Simon Cowell. That is to X-Factor's advantage. I love these singing competitions for two reasons - to laugh at those who are just awful in the auditions, and to laugh out loud at Simon Cowell's stunningly honest assessments of those who are awful.

You gotta have some fun somewhere, no?!

Keep yourselves Calm and X-FACTOR

Do you follow these singing shows? Which do you prefer - American Idol or X-Factor? Do you love Simon Cowell or hate him?!

Christmas Light-up at The Zenith Hotel, Kuantan

We attended a lovely event at The Zenith Hotel in Kuantan the other night, titled "Christmas Light-up".

The Zenith Hotel was looking fabulous as always. It was great to meet up with old members of staff there whom we met when the hotel first opened back in December 2010.

I love how spacious every area of The Zenith Hotel is. The lobby, check-in area, seating areas, the Lounge and Dining Room, even the elevators areas and the toilets are all spacious and attractive.

A small choir sang Christmas songs and hymns on the blue illuminated stairs in the lobby as people gathered to listen and reflect on the Christmas season. A local group of mentally challenged people were invited to the event as special guests in what was a nice touch to the night.

Food and drinks buffet style were served afterwards in the Lounge and Dining Room.

I hope you'll enjoy the photos I took of the Christmas Light-up night!

Santa came to visit Lauren and Leah!

I even got a photo with Santa and his helper!

Following is some of the food on offer for the buffet dinner at The Zenith Hotel during the Christmas Light-up event:
