In March 2014 we took my parents to KL and these are my favourite photos I took from that trip.

There is no better sight in KL than the iconic Petronas Twin Towers illuminated magnificently at night. I could spend the whole night staring up at this architectural and structural wonder. Breathtaking!

*Our home called Kuantan* has been out of posting for the last few days while we have been on holiday in Kuala Lumpur (KL).

One cannot visit KL without going to Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). And the heartbeat of KLCC is the quite majestic Petronas Twin Towers, the tallest such buildings in the world. (There are higher single towers, but these twin towers are the top of their class).

The Petronas Twin Towers are huge. It's only when you stand right beside them or view them from higher ground that you realise just how much they dwarf everything else in sight.

I always stand in awe of these marvellous towers, the symbol of Malaysia and KL. Just as they cause us to look upwards, they symbolise the future growth and potential of Malaysia. It also reminds us that we look upwards to a higher Being for our guidance and help.

The Petronas Twin Towers is an incredible structure and marvel of engineering.

This is what you call 'a room with a view'

Yes, this is the condo unit of my friend's place at KLCC, with the most perfect view you could want. The following pictures are taken from the 18th floor of this condo.

The raindrops on the window provided the perfect foreground to the KL skyline dominated by the Petronas Twin Towers in the background.

I could take photos of these magnificent towers all day . . . 

They look even prettier as night sets in . . . 

This final picture was taken at another friend's house, nearby Jalan Ampang. Look at the beams of light shooting into the night sky from the tips of the Petronas Twin Towers. To the left of the picture is the KL Tower.

Pahang State Mosque, Kuantan

The Pahang State Mosque in Kuantan is the centrepiece of Kuantan town.

Located in the heart of the town beside the post office and opposite Kuantan old town, it is the Islamic centre of worship in Kuantan.

Many years ago I visited the Pahang State Mosque, hoping to be able to go inside. Not only did I mange to go inside, but I had a guide who showed me around, and he allowed me to take pictures too. He didn't speak any English though, so I attempted to ask him questions using my shaky Bahasa Melayu. Overall it was unsuccessful!

My guide took me up one of these minarets, a very tight spiral staircase, but the view from the top was beautiful.

Spectacular view of the marvellous domes of the Pahang State Mosque, Kuantan, as the storm clouds began gathering. This was taken from midway up a minaret.

Being inside the Pahang State Mosque is a beautiful experience. It is quiet and peaceful, but above all, the artwork and design of this lovely edifice is inspiring.

I can clearly see seven distinct 'levels' in the structure of the Pahang State Mosque, including the small domes, large dome and minarets. I wonder if this has any symbolic significance to Muslims?

The mosque is a beautiful sight!
