Blog Flashbacks

Welcome to another round of blog flashbacks for this weekend. It's the first day of October, the month of my birth, and I'm getting older. I'm not too excited about that but I guess with each year that passes, I store more and more flashbacks to look back on and find joy!

First up is my visit to the Sri Sithi Vinayagar Temple in Kuantan town a year ago. It's a colourful hindu temple and I had a great conversation with an Indian lady there about religion.

In 2009 we witnessed a stunning Bonsai exhibition at East Coast Mall on a Saturday morning, followed by a Mooncake Festival at Teluk Chempedak beach later that night. A great Saturday indeed!

And finally, here is September's most-viewed post. I was quite surprised that this was top of the list, but people are reading it, so why don't you?!

September's top posts

Have a beautiful weekend and create some flashback moments for future years!

Blog Flashbacks Saturday

On this weekend a year ago, in September 2010, I posted some information about the nature of my blog and published images of our home as it was then. It was interesting to see how much it has changed in just a year!

In September 2009, I was, as I am currently, busy watching great tennis from the U.S. Open. I'm a Federer loyalist and he is looking good this year. A couple of years ago he had just beaten Djokovic in the semis to book a final meeting with Juan Martin Del Potro, who famously beat my man in 5 close sets.

Roger Federer performing a "tweener" - a shot hit between the legs with his back to the court. This shot was a sensational winner, flying straight past Djokovic!

I'm hoping that Federer can go all the way this year. He may be 30, he may have 2 young children, but he's still got the star quality!

Blog Flashbacks

A year ago this week I shared a photo of my family standing at the sea staring out onto the horizon. We all need some time to ponder life, our roles in it, and just chill out and relax.

Two years ago to the day I shared some images of the sunset and sunrise in Kuantan. I love waking up early to see sunrises like this:

Enjoy the remainder of the weekend!

Blog Flashbacks

A year ago near the end of August 2010, we went to my friend's bird house, the first time we had ever been to such a place. It was dark, smelly and noisy, but a unique experience nonetheless.

Two years ago in August 2009, we went on a one-night trip to the famous old town of Sungai Lembing. It was like living in the past, and although one night and a day wasn't enough time to fully appreciate it, I still sensed a little magic in the air.

What are some unique experiences you have had in your travels?

Blog flashbacks

So here we go with the weekend flashbacks of my blog. Today we are looking back to the first week of August 2010 and 2009.

On 6th August 2010 I blogged a short little post surrounding this picture:

And back in early August 2009 we went to Teluk Chempedak beach nearby our house:

It's good to be able to look back and see the memories of yesterday, so vivid and fresh I could reach out and touch them.
