Monkeying around at Teluk Chempedak beach

On our last walk around Teluk Chempedak (TC) beach in Kuantan, we encountered the monkeys hogging the footbridge.

The monkeys at TC are a regular feature. Some love them, some are terrified of them. I stand somewhere in between!

Their favourite time to come out and play is lunchtime, so be careful not to carry food in your hands, or the monkeys will have it! have a look at these photos I dared to snap...

  2. Hi Duncan. You were very brave to take those photos of the monkeys. Some great shots though. Love the one with the bottle of pink drink. Some poor person must have fled, leaving that behind!!

  3. These monkeys love food! I remember they attempted to take Lauren's french fries. I had to give it to them before they hurt us! Scary if you have food with you!

  4. These simians have apparently made themselves lords of the pathway. Have they attacked or bitten anyone so far? They are a nice feature, but I just hope the Kuantan municipal council would ensure that their numbers don't grow to become unmanageable otherwise they will soon pose a danger to Teluk Chempedak beach goers who themselves must be partly to blame for feeding them so freely. Otherwise, nice series of pictures. And I do kind of enjoy watching the monkeys so at home at Teluk C.

  5. What a cool series! Only place I've seen monkeys at the beach was Costa Rica.

  6. I hope they are friendly as they look. I suspect they are hanging out there because people feed them.

  7. I like the idea of monkeys, but I am not sure how I would do without an artificial separation between us. Great shots, Duncan!
