Thunderstorm caught on video in Kuantan, Malaysia

Good day my friends. It's great to have friends on the internet and to be able to interact with you on blogger and facebook. It's a great miracle and I'm thankful for the marvel of the internet.

It means that today I'm able to show you my amateur video footage of a thunderstorm we encountered Sunday night between 8.30-9.30pm. This was quite a thrilling storm packed full of lashing rain, sensational lightning strikes, and cannon blast thunder claps.

While the video may not be entirely and perfectly clear, and you may not be able to see the actual fork lightning, you will see the brightness of the strikes and hopefully you'll hear the noise and feel the atmosphere this storm generated.

  1. I love it! What a majestic storm. I hope the girls weren't frightened. When I was there last June I tried my hardest to get Lauren to love thunderstorms as I taught you, Gareth and Rachel to.

  3. Wow, impressive, Duncan! I love the thunderstorm! This happens in KL too. Sometimes, the lightnings sound like next to you. Scary, but I love all things turbulent!

  4. Duncan I am one of the strange type of people who enjoy thunder storms. In the house I lived in before I remarried in 04 there was a large porch that I would sit in a rocking chair and watch the storm. It was actually calming to me. Drove my wife and daughters wild.

  5. Hey mum, Lauren was scared at times, Leah loved it!

    Anna, poor tree!

ordinary malaysian, I'll always remember one particular storm in Subang where a lightning strike was so bright and the thunder sounded like a gigantic bullet had been fired and was ripping the air. Amazing!

Odie, you painted a nice picture with your words. I enjoy thunderstorms too.
