Santai Restaurant

We were invited to a birthday party of a friend recently, which was to be held at Santai Restaurant. Upon arriving at the location we were greeted by a rather pleasant looking detached house lit up warmly in the 8pm night sky.

We enjoyed a variety of dishes but didn't take too well to the rose drink. We thought the waiters were bringing out ribena but our joy was short-lived when we tasted its true identity! Lauren was a main attraction for cameras there. Here are a few pictures from that night:

Look what I found...

A jet-ski on wheels! Ok, my camera doesn't seem to work well in malls with artificial lighting, hence my blurred face, but that doesn't matter. Gaz and I were fortunate enough to come across this beast of a machine I have named a jet-ski on wheels. This jet-ski comes from Canada and, I was informed, would knock me back somewhere in the region of RM106,000. I somehow couldn't quite imagine romping around the roads of Kuantan on this jet-ski with three huge wheels. Anyway, I still enjoyed the photo opportunity!

Ten Pin Bowling Megamall

We decided to play a couple of games of ten-pin bowling at Mega Lanes, Megamall, Kuantan. My brother and I rolled whilst Fie snapped some action shots. For the record, I won both games which were very close, but this time it really was the fun that counted! (The scores were painfully low anyway, and highlighted the elapsed time since we last played).

Taman Pertanian (Agricultural Garden)

We recently visited Taman Pertanian and had the biggest let-down of our lives. It was a deserted set of fields with not a person in sight, and not too much to explore either.

We did however, spot a few ostriches in an enclosed area at the far end of the park, the only signs of life we saw.

Taman Pertanian is extremely poorly kept and managed with over-grown grass and abandoned museums and halls contributing to its neglected state. My brother is sure he spotted a rare squirrel inside the humid, dark and lifeless museum!

However, as with all around Kuantan and Malaysia, there was always plenty of nature to admire, which enabled me to whip out the lens and start snapping some images.

My eyes were instantly attracted to this show-piece tree neatly decorated with its beautiful red flowers.

Given some overdue tender loving care and affection, Taman Pertanian could draw a barrel-load of visitors to keep those ostriches alert.

Zenith Hotel progress

The Zenith Hotel has reached its full height and most of the work will be starting inside the building now.

The Sultan Ahmad Shah International Convention Centre will hold around 6,000 seating capacity
