Kuantan Skies #1

I really hope you're going to enjoy this series of photographs over the next 26 days. We live with a prime view of the Kuantan skies, with both the sunrise and sunset and everything in between, clearly visible from our window.

I'll be sharing a collection of photos taken this year, where all but 3 of them have been taken from our window or balcony.

Kuantan Skies #1 - I like the dynamic cloud formation over the hill

La Casa Restaurant, Kuantan

La Casa is one of my very favourite restaurants in Kuantan.

La Casa is a roadside house, half of which has been renovated into a restaurant

La Casa is located on Jalan Teluk Sisek, just before the turn to Teruntum Zoo, and sits directly opposite the golf course. It is just a minute's drive from Teluk Chempedak beach.

Run by friendly Europeans, La Casa is a big hit for expats in the area, as well as locals who love Western food. We have enjoyed several visits to La Casa and come away very satisfied each time.

Rainy evenings

Here in Kuantan, on the east coast of Malaysia, we have been witnessing a daily downpour for the last week. Whether it comes in the afternoon, evening, or at night, the rain is most certainly welcome in fighting off the searing heat!

Tossing Newspapers

People in Malaysia accumulate a large amount of newspapers. I have noticed this from the first day I set foot in the country in 2002.

This old lady threw stacks of newspapers off her 2nd floor balcony, creating a thudding sound around our apartments.

A man collected the newspapers and threw them in his lorry.

I must admit, this event was highly exciting for an Englishman living in Malaysia!
